Marty Welsh has been a full-time, professional REALTOR® since 1990 specializing in the sale and marketing of residential properties in the Baltimore/Washington metropolitan area and Northern Virginia. The broker-of-record at his office, Marty has extensive experience in all forms of residential real estate, from resales of single family homes and condominiums, to land acquisition, planning and building your dream home, to buying "distressed" properties including HUD and VA Homes, foreclosures, bank-owned properties (REO's), probates and investment properties. He enjoys working with both buyers and sellers alike -- from the first-time homebuyer to the seasoned investor.

 

Education

Marty earned a BA degree in Economics from Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania, and is a graduate of Loyola High School in Towson, Maryland. Education is one of the keystones of Marty's success and he has worked to earn three of the real estate industry's most prestigious professional designations. Marty is a Graduate of the REALTOR® Institute (GRI), is an Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR) as well as a Certified Buyers Representative (CBR). Each of these designations are his assurance to you of competent, quality and professional real estate services beyond your expectations.

 

Personal Information

A native of Baltimore, Marty has lived in Columbia for the past seventeen years. He came to real estate sales from a career with a national home builder where he was involved in production and corporate management. Eventually, Marty began buying, renovating and selling property on his own and secured his real estate license to support his investment business. As his real estate business grew, he thought it prudent to get into the brokerage-side of the business full-time and he has not looked back since. While still being quite active in real estate investments, it is keeping an "eye" out for real estate opportunities for his clients, the sales and marketing of those and other properties that is his passion; and, he incorporates his “ground-up” knowledge of homebuilding, restoration and sales of residential real estate into his very successful career.

 

Outside of real estate, Marty is quite fortunate to be married and the father of three children. He serves on the Boards of two homeowners associations, volunteers his time with St Francis of Assissi parish in Fulton, MD, is a sports enthusiast and enjoys  watching lacrosse and college basketball.

Professional Philosophy

Marty's goal in every transaction is simply stated but achieved only through years of experience and extensive knowledge. Marty wants everyone to be satisfied. He begins the achievement of this goal by determining his clients expectations at the very onset of their first meeting or discussion. Then he promises to fulfill their goals and follows through on that promise. “I have a different philosophy about practicing real estate and in representing Buyers and Sellers: I focus 110% of my efforts on delivering the most competent, time, money-saving & hassle-free service. This way, I am able to deliver such outstanding results that you will look forward to working with me again, and think of me when your friends and family need a caring and competent Realtor to represent them." For example, many agents utilize solely the Multiple Listing Service to "search" properties available in a particular marketplace. Marty does that and more. "I have other resources at my disposal that compliment the MLS and provide further options to my customers and clients, including lists of foreclosed properties, bank-owned (REO) properties, HUD and VA homes and a schlew of real estate Auction properties." Marty's casual and laid-back style helps foster the open lines of communication which are essential to a smooth transaction thru settlement.
